Australia will play their third T20 World Cup 2024 fixture against Namibia on Wednesday. The Aussies have been in phenomenal form in the tournament with back-to-back victories in their first couple of games. They began their campaign with a 39-run victory over Oman.
A similar trend continued in the next clash against England as the Aussies beat the Jos Buttler-led side by 36 runs. Four of Australia’s batters scored 30-plus runs in the first half to help the 2021 winners surpass the 200-run mark. In the next half, the Mitchell Marsh-led side curbed the Englishmen at 165 runs. Pat Cummins and Adam Zampa found the most impact on the bowling front, taking two wickets each.
Australia will now be looking to extend their winning run by beating Namibia next. A third victory would also ensure their place in the playoffs.
Australia will play their T20 World Cup fixture against Namibia at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium on June 12. Namibia also began their World Cup campaign on a winning note with an 11-run victory over Oman in a super-over affair. However, in their previous game, Namibia conceded a five-wicket loss to Scotland. They will now be looking to bounce back by surprising Australia in their upcoming match. However, a win for Namibia remains unlikely.
