The 35-year-old, witnessing Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad from the sidelines, candidly revealed his request to the team management to sit out. Maxwell, whose performance in the ongoing IPL season has been lackluster with just 32 runs from six innings, acknowledged the importance of resetting ahead of the 20-over showcase.

Expressing his rationale, Maxwell emphasized the need to avoid digging oneself into a hole amidst poor form and seize the opportunity to rejuvenate.
