LAST TIME VS. PROVIDENCE (Dec. 6, 2017)

The Bears led for 33 minutes in the contest at the then-named Dunkin’ Donuts Center, but PC was able to secure the 77-72 overtime victory.

BEARS IN THE RANKINGS

Nana Owusu-Anane’s six double-doubles are second most in NCAA Division I, just one behind Purdue big man and preseason All-American Zach Edey. Nana also leads the league in offensive rebounds per game (3.36), free throw attempts (70), and free throws made (45). Kino Lilly Jr. is second in the nation in three-point attempts (93), third with 170 field goal attempts, fourth in minutes played (38:24) and ninth in points (194).

RECORD WATCH

Junior Kino Lilly Jr. continues to climb up the charts and is ranked No. 29 in scoring (1,036) after surpassing Matt Sullivan ’13 (1,033) and Eric Blackiston ’96 (1,031) in Wednesday’s win over URI. He is currently No. 6 in three-pointers made with 181. He is 10 points away from No. 28, Gerry Alaimo ’58.

20-POINT GAMES

Three Bears have scored 20 points in a game this season – Kino Lilly Jr., Nana Owusu-Anane and Alexander Lesburt Jr. In his career, Lilly Jr. has 21 following his 22-point performance on Wednesday, and Owusu-Anane has four in his Bear career (two this season).

TAKE CARE OF THE BALL

Head coach Mike Martin ’04 mentioned one of the keys to Wednesday’s Ocean State win over URI was taking care of the basketball, and the eight turnovers were the least against an NCAA Division I opponent since Brown’s six in a neutral site contest against Bradley on Nov. 20, 2021.

ALL-TIME SERIES

Providence leads the all-time series 94-30.
