Celebrity-chaser turned cop: Who is the man connected to the disappearance of a Sydney couple?

A New South Wales police officer who is in custody in connection with the disappearance of two men from Sydney’s east is a former celebrity chaser.

Police have expressed “grave concerns” for the safety of 29-year-old Luke Davies and 26-year-old Jesse Baird after items that “appeared to be unusual” were found in a skip bin in Cronulla on Wednesday.

NSW Police Officer Beau Lamarre, 28, presented himself to police at Bondi police station at 10:30am on Friday, after a search.

In a statement, police have said they are “looking at a line of inquiry that a third person may be able to assist with the investigation”.

He appeared in dozens of interviews on red carpets for a celebrity blog site around a decade ago, including Ben Stiller, Cody Simpson, Russell Crowe and Chris Hemsworth.

He attended events including the ARIA awards, AACTA awards and film premieres.

A YouTube account associated with the blog site remains online.

Constable Lamarre’s social media accounts show a long history of celebrity chasing and an inactive page for amateur actors.

Online the 28-year-old would often go by the pseudonym Beau London, creating accounts on X, formerly Twitter, Flikr, Instagram, and a celebrity blog page titled That’s The Tea.

The now-deleted blog page saw Constable Lamarre claiming to receive 2.1 million page views per month for his gossip and celebrity spotting and featured videos from interviews at premieres and red carpets.

Constable Lamarre was arrested in Bondi and transferred to Waverley where he was assisting police with their inquiries into the disappearances.

Investigators are now searching for a white Toyota HiAce with NSW registration CW82PM or dashcam footage of the van last seen on Monday evening.
