A Sydney stylist has clapped back following criticism of their ‘extravagant’ entrance at Australian Fashion Week.
Jamie Azzopardi, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, strutted through Carriageworks in Sydney on Monday flanked by an entourage of minders tending to their extravagant gown.
However, not everyone was impressed by the spectacle.
Married At First Sight star Carolina Santos didn’t hold back in her critique of Azzopardi’s grand arrival.
The reality TV star took to social media to mock the stylist quipping, ‘What the f**K is that? Does Jamie think [they] are at the Met Gala or something? Why are people holding [their] clothes?’

Jamie clapped back at Carolina’s scathing observation on Tuesday, with brutal directness.
‘They aren’t my “minders” they are assistants and they are INCREDIBLE at their jobs, they help make sure I look meticulous and put together even when having to create over the top looks, such as this so that you can all enjoy the fashion statements deserving of FASHION WEEK!,’ Jamie wrote on Instagram stories
Azzopardi added that the gown was carried to respect the designer and avoid being dragged across a semi wet floor.
‘I know you want to stand out the front of fashion week, and pretend like your going to shows but we all understand that designers, after your stunt last year, don’t want you anywhere near them, so if your goal is to sit out the front and make uneducated opinions publicly about how others choose to live then my advice is to get a better hobby,’ they continued.
Adding spice to the saga, the stylist revealed a direct message they received from Carolina, seeking last minute style assistance ahead of last year’s Australian Fashion Week.
‘Caroline didn’t seem to have an issue with my big outfits when she begged me to dress her a day before last years fashion week,’ Azzopardi wrote.

Eyewitnesses described Azzopardi’s arrival on Monday as nothing short of a performance.
Dressed in a detailed gown which featured layers of fine fabric and intricate embellishments, the stylist made sure all eyes were on them.
Azzopardi’s ‘minders’ were seen constantly adjusting every detail of their attire, ensuring that not a single fold was out of place as photographers snapped away.
Australian Fashion Week has gone from one of the country’s most prestigious events to one flanked by reality stars, wannabes and micro-influencers.
Industry insiders have told Daily Mail Australia that this year’s designers are taking caution and want nothing to do with ‘fame hungry MAFS stars desperate to be seen at fashion week’.
