The 2024 Paris Olympics are right around the corner, as the world’s best athletes compete for glory. 

For the Australian contingent, their swimmers have long been a reliable source of medals, and in 2024 they will be hoping to dominate in the pools once again.

But which Australian swimmers will don the green and gold in Paris, and how do they qualify?

How do Australian swimmers qualify for the Olympics?

For Australian swimming hopefuls, their chance to qualify for the upcoming Olympics will come via the 2024 Australian Swimming Trials. 

Across six days, the best of Australia’s swimming talent will go head-to-head at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre, all aiming to claim a ticket to Paris. 

To qualify for the Australian Olympic team, swimmers will need to finish in the top two of the final of their chosen event, and also swim under the qualifying time set by Swimming Australia.

When are the 2024 Australian swimming trials?

The 2024 Australian swimming trials will begin on Monday, June 10, and will run until Saturday, June 15, culminating in the announcement of the official Olympic swimming team. 

The trials are being held at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre, in Queensland.

How to watch the 2024 Australian swimming trials

Australian swimming fans can catch all the action of the trials live and free via the Nine network. 

Both the heats and finals will be shown across Channel 9 and 9Gem, and can be streamed on 9Now.
