How to watch the 2024 PGA Championship – Australian Golf Digest

Is that a cough we’re hearing? And that definitely sounds a lot like the sniffles. You better let your boss know you’re not feeling all that great and that this coming week you’re going to need to take it easy. And by easy, we mean find your way to a couch or recliner, TV or smart phone at the ready, to take in the copious hours of golf coverage about to come your way from the 2024 PGA Championship.

Between CBS, CBS Sports Network, ESPN, ESPN 2 and ESPN+, golf fans will be treated to more than 250 hours of live coverage across all the broadcast, cable and digital platforms showcasing the action at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky.

Once again, the PGA will feature wire-to-wire 72-hole coverage via CBS Sports, ESPN, ESPN+ and Paramount+. But this year it will be enhanced by a variety of technology innovations that aim to bring fans closer to the action.

According to a CBS press release, in an effort to capture all the sights and sounds at Valhalla, CBS Sports will deploy more than 125 cameras and nearly 150 microphones throughout the golf course, as well as 500 record channels of EVS (a live replay and highlight system). Additional technological and production enhancements include:

  • Fly cams over the practice facility and the par-5 18th hole
  • Multiple drones as live cameras for scenic views from above during action
  • Player Walk-and-Talk interviews
  • ARL Virtual Eye Side Slab Flight Track to follow track of the ball on the hole and compare how players did on hole in previous rounds.

For those who like watching their golf on the TV, ESPN and CBS Sports have you covered. You will be able to see “broadcast” coverage from 1-7 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Outside the traditional broadcast windows, ESPN+ will have you covered from the first tee shot to the last putt on Thursday and Friday, plus exclusive featured-group and featured-hole presentations all four days. All told, ESPN and ESPN+ will present more than 230 hours of live play during the four days.

As is the case for ESPN and ESPN+, CBS’ broadcast coverage will be streaming live on Paramount+.
