The final of the NBA’s first-ever In-Season Tournament is set.
The Indiana Pacers will take on the Los Angeles Lakers for the NBA Cup after emerging victorious from their semi-final showdowns.
In the East, the Pacers and the Milwaukee Bucks, both on perfect tournament records, clashed for a ticket to the final. Despite a game-high 37 points from Giannis Antetokounmpo, it was Indiana, led by Tyrese Haliburton with 27 points and 15 assists, that took the win 128-119.
Over in the West, a dominant opening frame from the Lakers meant their opponents, the New Orleans Pelicans, never got a look as they convincingly won 89-133. Veteran superstar LeBron James had a night to remember putting up 30 points, eight rebounds and five assists in just 23 minutes of action.
The Lakers and Pacers will now meet in Las Vegas on Saturday 9 December to determine which team will be the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament champions.
