NBA Rumors: Hornets President Mitch Kupchak Resigns; 76ers’ Brand Among Targets Eyed

Mitch Kupchak has resigned as president of basketball operations for the Charlotte Hornets, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Wojnarowski reported there’s already a projected shortlist for the vacancy:

Among several league executives expected to be considered in the process: New Orleans GM Trajan Langdon, Brooklyn assistant GM Jeff Peterson, Cleveland GM Mike Gansey, Philadelphia GM Elton Brand, and others, sources tell ESPN. <a href=”https://t.co/WckDSYBLBT”>https://t.co/WckDSYBLBT</a>

Kupchak’s departure comes less than a week after the NBA trade deadline passed. He helped set the stage for a rebuild by dealing Gordon Hayward and P.J. Washington shortly before the deadline, while Terry Rozier had been shipped out in January.
