Highs in the upper 70s and good golf as far as the eye can see call for one thing and one thing only: An ice-cold beer. Suppose you’re lucky enough to find yourself walking around Valhalla this week. In that case, you’ve probably already spent a pretty penny on tickets and accommodations, but you shouldn’t have to declare bankruptcy for a drink or two. Well, luckily you might not have to.
Golf Monthly is reporting that the PGA Championship beer prices will drop over the next few days from their criticized amount back in 2022 and even a few dollars less than their 2023 Oak Hill counterparts. Two years ago, at Southern Hills, a Michelob Ultra can cost $18 with a steep drop last year all the way down to a measly $17.
“The pricing of the product is sort of comparable to stadium events,” PGA of America CEO Seth Waugh said back in 2022 at Southern Hills. “We’re comfortable with where we are, and we hope spectators will come out and have a great time and a great experience.”

This week at Valhalla, prices are dropping even more with a Michelob Ultra at $14. Premium beers and seltzers will be $15. This isn’t a $1.50 Costco hot dog-esque deal, but we’ll take what we can get. Augusta National is its own mini-miracle with beer prices at just $5, so comparing the PGA and the Masters is like comparing apples and Michelob Ultras.
With record crowds this week—over 200,000 patrons are expected—we’re pretty sure the PGA will still be able to turn a profit despite the $3 beer reduction. Hot dogs and cheeseburgers are $8 and $15 respectively with over 100k burgers expected to be devoured this week. And do you know what you need with some barbecue? A $14 beer, of course.
