Top Australian jockeys Zac Purton, Hugh Bowman, and Brenton Avdulla are set to make waves in Hong Kong’s racing scene, having secured licenses from the prestigious Hong Kong Jockey Club for the upcoming 2024/25 season.

Purton, a seasoned Sha Tin regular since 2007, eyes his seventh premiership, showcasing his enduring prowess.

Bowman, despite facing setbacks like injuries and suspension, remains a formidable force, recently clinching a Group 1 victory aboard Invincible Sage in the Chairman’s Sprint Prize.

Meanwhile, Avdulla, a former Victorian apprentice, has swiftly adapted to Hong Kong’s competitive environment, making significant strides alongside trainer Tony Cruz.

In addition, young jockey Ben Thompson joins the Australian contingent with a short-term license until December 8, adding to the Antipodean flair in the vibrant Hong Kong racing scene.

Furthermore, the upcoming season marks trainer David Eustace’s debut in the lucrative Asian jurisdiction, promising an exciting new chapter in his career.
