Australian skipper Pat Cummins celebrates 31st birthday with father | – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Australian cricket star Pat Cummins, who captains both the Australian national team and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), celebrated his 31st birthday in Hyderabad alongside his father on Wednesday.
Cummins, known for his fierce competitiveness, led Australia to victories in the ODI World Cup and the inaugural World Test Championship title last year.
His remarkable performances have earned him the prestigious ICC Cricketer of the Year award, solidifying his status as one of the premier players in the world of cricket.
The official X (formerly Twitter) handle of SRH posted a picture of Cummins, with his face smeared with birthday cake, celebrating his birthday with his father Peter.
“Wholesomeness levels @patcummins30’s dad joins in on the birthday fun,” tweeted SRH.

Since making his international debut for Australia as a teenager back in 2011, Pat Cummins has established himself as one of the premier all-rounders in the world of cricket.
In the longest format of the game, Cummins has donned the prestigious Baggy Green cap in 62 Tests, amassing an impressive tally of 269 wickets at an average of 22.53, including 12 five-wicket hauls and two ten-wicket hauls. He has also showcased his batting prowess, contributing vital runs down the order, albeit his numbers may not fully reflect his ability to handle pressure situations.
In One Day Internationals (ODIs), Cummins has claimed 141 wickets in 88 matches, maintaining an average of 28.66, with notable performances including six four-wicket hauls and a five-wicket haul. Additionally, he has showcased his capability with the bat, tallying 492 runs at an average of 13.66.
In the shortest format, Cummins has been equally effective, snaring 57 wickets in 52 T20 Internationals (T20Is) at an average of 24.77. He has also made valuable contributions with the bat, despite limited opportunities.
Cummins’ contributions have been pivotal in Australia’s triumphs in ICC events, including the 2015 and 2023 ICC Cricket World Cups, as well as the ICC World Test Championship. His standout performances in 2023, amidst personal adversity and professional triumphs, further underscore his resilience and skill on the cricket field.
Currently leading Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Cummins has exhibited his leadership qualities, both with the ball and the bat, guiding his team to a commendable position in the tournament standings.
